Alex Jimenez, known by his DJ name He-Menace, is a DJ rooted in both Colombian and Nicaraguan culture. The name “He-Menace” is a personal touch—a playful nod to the way his last name is pronounced, offering a unique connection between his identity and his art.

He-Menace’s musical journey began at the age of 17, when he was introduced to the world of raving. It was at this moment that his perspective on music was forever changed. Deep house quickly became his foundation, but his love for the genre led him to explore a wide range of sounds—from organic house to melodic techno, indie dance, and even tech house. This versatility is reflected in his sets, where he aims to take listeners on a journey through different rhythms and emotions.

In 2023, Alex decided to take his passion to the next level when he found a mixer at a local thrift store. Seeing it as a sign, he dove into DJing, and it wasn’t long before his energy and passion for music caught the attention of local venues. He became a resident DJ at Raindance Hostel in Ometepe, Nicaragua, where he spent a month building connections and sharing his sound. He also became a recurring face at Beyond City Beats and their open decks events, while playing at well-known venues like 56Underground and Alora. Along the way, Alex has performed at house parties, where he takes great joy in creating a space where people can connect, dance, and lose themselves in the music.
